Product Safety testing plays a crucial role in ensuring consumer well-being, regulatory compliance, and maintaining the reputation of manufacturers. This involves rigorous testing, inspections, and certifications to meet consumer product safety standards. By identifying potential hazards and defects, this process ensures that products are safe for consumers, preventing legal issues and building trust in the manufacturer’s commitment to delivering secure and reliable products.

ALTER has more than 30 years of experience in testing and equipment certifications, offering engineering solutions to ensure the quality, reliability, safety, and performance of products of highly demanding industries.

Some of our services:

Conformity Assessment under DR (EU) 2019/945

In compliance with the Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945, manufacturers and operators are required to demonstrate that their Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) or Drones, designed for operation within applicable categories, meet the essential requirements outlined for their Class Identification Label (CIL). This verification is achieved through the performance of Product Conformity Assessment procedures, organized into modules ranging from the least to the most stringent. This selection of procedures is proportional to the associated risk level and the required safety standards.

By being the first Notified Body accredited to assess UAS/Drones certifications under DR (EU) 2019/945, ALTER is widely acknowledged for our commitment to support and collaborate closely with manufacturers and operators in their pursuit of certification for their aircraft.

CE Marking

Knowing that UAS/Drones are systems to be considered as products that can be commercialized within the European Union, the CE marking guarantees that a product meets the requirements necessary to be sold and enjoy free circulation in the European market.

Our commitment to quality and reliability has made ALTER a trusted partner for companies across industries seeking to ensure compliance with CE marking standards, mainly in aerospace, automotive, defense, and UAS/Drone sectors.

Product Testing

At ALTER, we understand the critical role that reliability and compliance play in the UAS/Drones industry, that’s why we help manufacturers on their responsibility of checking that their products meet the safety, health, and environmental protection requirements.

We can be your ideal partner for conducting testing campaigns on your product. Here are some of the tests that can be performed at ALTER’s facilities for UAS/Drones:

Complementary tests: Climatic, Mechanical, and Cybersecurity.

Considering the diverse environments in which Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) or Drones may operate, it’s fundamental to consider complementary types of testing to ensure the safety, reliability, integrity, and security of their operations. In this case, ALTER is pointing to offer two (2) complementary tests:

  •  Environmental (Climatic and mechanical tests): It helps to evaluate the UAS/Drone’s performance under various weather conditions.
  • Cybersecurity: It helps to identify and address vulnerabilities in the UAS/Drone’s software and communication systems.
